Pdonate_pic.jpgersonal and community support is vital to the success of WCDC in both operational and capital campaign to construct a new Day Program Facility.  We ask you to consider financial support of this project, sharing in the WCDC’s mission to provide quality programs and services to our developmentally challenged friends and neighbors.  There are several opportunities available to you, to help support WCDC fundraising efforts while gaining tax and income benefits for yourself. WCDC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please speak with your accountant to help you determine the level of tax deductibility of your gift. Please consider one of the following:


CASH GIFTS

Gifts of cash may be made in a single payment or as a multi-year pledge (up to three years).  You may obtain a pledge card from the Development Office by calling (410) 632-2382, Ext. 108.

Please include your name, complete mailing address, and phone number. If your gift is in honor or memory of someone special, please include his or her name and provide the name and address of the person to whom you would like an acknowledgement sent. 
 

GIFTS OF APPRECIATED SECURITIES

Leadership pledges are frequently paid with long-term capital gain securities.  Gifts of securities provide you, the donor, with attractive income tax benefits.  Appreciated assets enable you to leverage your philanthropic commitment significantly.  You can either sign over stock papers or arrange for an electronic transfer. 
 

REAL ESTATE

A gift of real estate is another convenient way to contribute.  If you are hesitating to sell some real estate due to potential large capital gains taxes, you may transfer the property to The Worcester County Developmental Center and derive substantial benefits.  LIFE INSURANCEThis may provide an easy way to make a substantial gift.  You may be one of the fortunate people whose life insurance policy has outlived its original purpose.  A policy can be assigned to The Worcester County Developmental Center. 
 

GIFTS THROUGH YOUR WILL

While current gifts are needed, you are not limited to this form of giving.  By making a bequest to WCDC in your Will, you can help to ensure quality programs and services for your community, well into the future.  Or, you may consider leaving your assets in trust, assigning the income to one or two beneficiaries and the trust principal to The Worcester County Developmental Center. 
 

OTHER FORMS OF GIVING

These include life income plans and trusts, family business gifts, and commemorative or memorial gifts.  There are a variety of plans that can bring immediate benefits to you.  We urge you to consult your own legal or financial counsel to determine which plan is best for you.  You’ll be able to receive the maximum benefit for your objectives, while supporting The Worcester County Developmental Center at the same time.  Your donation will make a difference and will make it possible to continue providing quality services and programs for adults with developmental disabilities!
