| MACS Excellence in Direct Support Award |

OCEAN CITY - (June 2, 2009) The Maryland Association of Community Services (MACS) recently presented an MACS 2009 Excellence in Direct Support award to Roy Suggs and a Certificate of Recognition to Harriett Fisher, staff members of Worcester County Developmental Center, Inc. (WCDC).
Harriett Fisher has been with WCDC for 15 years primarily serving as a Residential Coordinator. Through her employment with WCDC, she has been recognized for her level of professionalism, prompt response to requests, recording of medical information and dedication and commitment to the individuals served. Not only do the individuals love Harriett Fisher, but so do their families. One parent commented about how she makes sure the individuals get involved in events and activities. Most importantly, Harriett Fisher cares for the individuals like they are her own family members. WCDC proudly recognizes Roy Suggs and Harriett Fisher as passionate and effective advocates for people with developmental disabilities. WCDC is a private non-profit organization committed to empowering developmentally challenged adults in making individual choices in how they live and work in their communities. |

Roy Suggs has been with WCDC for over a year working as a Job Coach in the Supported Employment department. His efforts, accomplishments and remarkable demeanor made him stand out as a highly deserving individual for this award. “He has the initiative to take on tasks without being asked and has a strong understanding of how to best serve the client.” said Sally Borzager, Program Director of WCDC.
